Attention all Product hoarders! It's time to do a clean out

Yeah, you know who you are. It's time to clean out some of that baggage.

Attention all Product hoarders.

Yeah, you know who you are.

You’re the *shakes the bottle* I’m sure there’s still some Developer (in this empty bottle) I’ll put it back in the cupboard. Or the I need to Colour my Hair. Opens the cupboard to find a couple of random 1/4 full tubes leftover. That’ll do.

Sound familiar? Yeah, it’s time for a clean out.

Pull it all out. All your Colour, Developer, Colour Remover and accessories - it’s time to give it a good look over.

Start with the bottles - Developer and Colour Remover. Think of the last time you used them. Anything that's over a year old that you have opened and closed a couple of times, get rid of it. Especially if you don't remember the last time you used it, it's likely it has lost its strength and won’t work to its full ability. What about the 40 Vol you have left over from that Blonde phase you went through a couple of years ago? SLING IT.

We keep our Developer’s in small bottles to keep it as fresh as possible. When you use it, screw the lid back on tight asap. The more open to oxygen Developer is, the weaker it gets. This is the same with Colour Remover. The more it's open, the weaker the mixture gets.

Tip: Sharpie the date of use on your bottles, so you know if they have passed their use by.

Now let’s get a look at your Colour tubes. Anything unopened can stay. The Blonde phase we spoke about before, you can throw that out. Any nearly empty tubes from a while ago should go. Keep in mind Colour is exactly like Developer or Colour Remover, it is resealable and reusable, but if oxygen gets to it due to the lid being off too much, then it needs to be binned. Remember to seal it quickly after use.

Tip: Keep your Products out of direct sunlight and away from the heat for prolonged use.

When it comes to your accessories, give them a good clean. Keep these guys up to standard and when they need to be replaced… Replace them!

You are committing to your Hair Colour, not putting together whatever you have around in your tint bowl. Treat yo’ self!
