To us, the most exciting part of the Oscars is from the head up and this year it didn’t disappoint. We had some Colour transformations, some classic hues and modest upgrades all coming together for the the final showdown of the awards season. But alas, we’re too obsessed with Hair to pick one side, coming to a collective decision that there would be a handful of winners that would take out our top prize.

You might know by now that this look is an absolute favourite of ours. Grown out Dark roots and Platinum Blonde ends are divine when done right, even though we like to steer clear of exposed Regrowth. To recreate Brie Larson’s two-toned Colour, paint 901 Extra Light Ash Blonde through the ends of your Hair for that crisp and delicate Cool Blonde.

Some of the biggest surprises weren’t the dresses, rather the major Colour transformation of Charlize Theron from her trademark Blonde into a statement Brunette. We’re always ones to swoon over major Colour changes and her deep Brunette didn’t disappoint. We love the Natural Tones flowing through her Hair so simply, looking sophisticated and dripping in shine. Copy her Colour with a 5 Light Brown minimalist Brunette.

Over in the world of Oscar winners, Emma Stone’s upgrade to a richer, deeper Brunette is every reason why we love Warm Brunettes. The way the camera flashes reflected off her glossy Golden Mahogany hues are major Colour goals and easily replicated with 5.53 Chocolate Brown.

And then we saw Amy Adam’s Peach Blonde-esque which has completely opened up her face, highlighting the pink of her cheeks and Blue eyes. This Colour is f-u-n and bulging with low key energy that makes her Copper hues smoother than you’d expect from a Copper. Copy her Colour using 3/4 x 8 Light Blonde and 1/4 x 8.44 Intense Copper Blonde, to subdue the intensity of the Copper and rev-up the energy in a Blonde.

4 time Grammy winner, Kacey Musgraves fairy floss dress was the perfect compliment to her trademark Brunette. It’s not often you find a Brunette on the red carpet with this kind of depth (shocking right) and powerhouse pitch dark hues. We love the dramatics of this Colour furthermore how it frames her face and emphasises her eyebrows. This one's easy, use 3 Dark Brown to get the same Colour statement.

But is there anyone that owns a red carpet quite like J Lo? Never one to choose an understated outfit, her Hair, however, bucks the trend filled with sweeping Blonde highlights staggered throughout her Hair in a sun kissed kind of way. Copy them by painting 9 Very Light Blonde, or 8 Light Blonde if you want a darker Blonde, with some 9.1 Light Ash Blonde variation Highlights to bring some Coolness through the Hair.
